Blog vs Wiki
A wiki is a collaborative web tool where different people can provide information about a topic. Different people can modify posts adding, updating or correction information. Since different person contributes to the content, we can say they are numerous authors. a wiki also evolves since the authors can update the text and make sure all that all information is accurate. It is a great tool for projects that need cooperation and that are knowledge-based since everybody in the team can participate fully.
A blog ( also known as Weblog) is a website where an individual or a team can post articles gravitating around a topic. Although some blogs are very professional and related to businesses or corporations, most blogs are informal and personal. Just people deciding to talk about a given subject and sharing their opinion on particular topics.
In comparison to Wiki, blogs are less collaborative and probably more complicated to navigate as some of them require some coding knowledge (HTML). Wikis are usually text based on do not require any coding skills. Also since blogs are usually maintained by one person, they tend to be really static and not evolve as much as a wiki can since different persons can update/modify the post.
A blog might be used for collaboration if on the same blog different people can post their opinion on the same topic thru different articles. It might an interesting concept to see different persons' points of view independently displayed all about the same problem or event.
Wiki can be used in project management for brainstorming and also task organization as all team may be able to update it in real-time
