Privacy

The baseline of new media is information. As long as we have information at stake whether physical (old media) or logical(new media) privacy and confidentiality have to be involved. Most of the digital or electronic platforms are subject to privacy an confidentiality issues. It is basically any information that are deemed revealing and could cause harm to the owner of the piece of information. The information could be a simple picture of the Zuckerberg  that is inadvertently re posted on twitter by a stranger who thought that the picture was open to the public. It could also be some critical and highly confidential data about the NSA, sold by the security administrator Edward Snowden to wikipedia. New media platforms bring together users who are dealing with tonnes of private information of their own and the line between private or confidential and public information could be to thin to perceive.
